Scandinavian attractions for big and little ones

This year's Scandinavian Days, like the previous editions of this event, will last until the next Sunday. The first day is behind us. What interesting proposals can we find in the program for the weekend?
 

Friday 22.04.2016

Friday starts very early - at 8:15. At the monument of Adam Mickiewicz a farewell of the participants  of Szczecin-Ystad bicycle rally will be held. (The event will be attended by Ambassadors of Scandinavian countries).

At 10:30 a conference organized by the Faculty of Philology at the University of Szczecin commences. The event will be held at the Interdepartmental Library of University of Szczecin, Al. Piastów 40b. (The event will be attended by Ambassadors of Scandinavian countries).

From 11.00 to 13.00 at Primary School No 45 at Benesza Street the Scandinavian artistic presentation by the pupils of Szczecin’s schools will take place. (The event will be attended by Ambassadors of Scandinavian countries).

At  18.00 in Pro Media – – Branch No. 54 of the Municipal Public Library workshops with Paweł Pollak, writer, author of crime novels and translator of Swedish literature are planned.

At  20.00 in Art Trafostation, there will be Live concert by Foyn Friis Quartet+ Jola Szczepaniak. Tickets price is 30 zł, available on www.bilety.fm. More information at www.saa.pl

The Cultural Centre of the Euroregion "Stara Rzeźnia" (Łasztownia) invites, on Saturday at 11.00, the youngest Szczecin’s citizenst to an enchanted world of Astrid Lindgren’s books. The actess Edyta Jungowska will lead the little ones to this world. The entrance is free. More information on www.stararzeznia.pl

Between 12.00-16.00 w Art Trafostation the cyanotype workshops and the symbols of Scandinavian culture and art meetings will take place. The workshop programme is suitable for children from 6 to 10 years of age; limited number of admissions (max. groups of 15) new groups every half an hour, 5zl/person. Kamera Assosiation invites you to a screening of a 1960 film on Setesdal Valley in Norway and an animated film produced in Vagamo by the Kamera Association; photography exhibition “Evje yesterday and today”(until the 8th of May)  and a presentation of the bunad  costume (from Setesdal Valley). At 18.00 Szczecin Artistic Agency invites you to Eric Allen – „Jazz Clinic” jazz workshops and jam session. Admission free. Details on www.saa.pl

 

Sunday 24.04.2016

On Sunday we invite you to Family Sport Picnic in the Rose Garden. At 11.00 the fun for the whole family starts. Surrounded by beautiful spring nature the festival of the games and activities for the whole family, contests with prizes on the knowledge of the Scandinavian coufntries, runs for children, run on a distance of 10 km and Nordic Walking on a distance of 5km will be held in the Garden. At 17.00 w  13 Muz Community Cetnre a concert featuring selected works of Scandinavian choral music and baritone solo, supplemented by examples of Scandinavian poetry. Performers: Collegium Maiorum Choir of ZUT in Szczecin under the direction of Pawel Osuchowski; Bartłomiej Kornacki - baritone, Andrew Wątorski - lead. Free entrance.
