Architecture with People
As part of this years’ Scandinavian Days, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Warsaw and the INKU Szczecin Incubator for Culture cordially invite you to the exhibition entitled “Architecture with People”, which presents the best Danish architectural designs created in recent years, with a focus on the environment and “feel-good”. The exhibition opening will take place on 1 April 2017 (Saturday) at 1 pm in the INKU Szczecin Incubator for Culture (Al. Wojska Polskiego 90).
The physical environment both reflects and affects society. In a welfare state such as Denmark, architecture and urban planning play a huge role in creating the framework for social development.
Danish architects are known for their skills in sustainable development, energy conservation and urban planning, and design buildings all over the world. Architects get involved in the dialogue with communities. This allows them to satisfy the current demands of residents and take into account their potential future needs.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Warsaw promotes Danish solutions in sustainable architecture and spatial planning. It targets local governments, developers, architects, urban planners, architecture students and the general public.
Famous Danish architect and urban planner Jan Gehl, representatives of Aalborg and Frederikssund, and representatives of the Henning Larsen Architects, EFFEKT, and Aarhus Arkitekterne studios, responded to the Embassy’s invitations and came to Warsaw,
To date, the Embassy has organised three seminars and four exhibitions revolving around the subject of Danish architecture and urban planning. More events are planned. The focus of these meetings is always on the people and their well-being inside and outside buildings. The Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Warsaw is dedicated to promoting Danish architectural and urban planning projects, which are created with the natural environment and well-being of people in mind.
Over the last four years, it has been supported by City of Warsaw, Szczecin City Hall, the Lublin City Office, the Association of Polish Architects, the Bydgoszcz Branch of the Association of Polish Architects, the Danish Cultural Institute in Poland and the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology.
